HAMILTON, Ontario: Atwell Centre: Pregnancy Support Options, a well-known southern Ontario Community Health Agency provides non-judgmental support to women and men exploring pregnancy options and other sexual health issues, will be hosting its 11th Annual Gala on November 9, 2023. The event will take place in person at Carmen’s Banquet Centre in Hamilton and will raise funds to support Atwell Centre’s numerous community programs and services.
Founded in 2012, Atwell Centre: Pregnancy Support Options provides women and men with support while exploring pregnancy options, testing for sexually transmitted infections, post-abortion stabilization and councelling, and information about sexual health. With locations in Hamilton and Oakville, Ontario, it offers safe spaces and professional services provided by a dedicated staff of registered nurses and social workers. In addition to its primary services, Atwell Centre has also pioneered S.H.A.R.E. (Sexual Health and Relationship Education), an educational program for youth that shares accurate information and develops critical thinking skills around healthy sexuality and relationships.
This November, Atwell Centre is thrilled to be able to host its Annual Gala once again. The event, which includes a formal dinner and programme, an important element of the organization’s fundraising campaign strategy, and this year’s goal is to raise $220,000. Registration is now open, and attendees can take advantage of the Early Bird Table Special until October 2, 2023 ($500 for a table of 8 guests). Guests who wish to sit together are invited to book together.
Lois Benham-Smith, Atwell Centre’s founder and executive director, looks forward to welcoming guests and supporters to Carmen’s Banquet Centre on the evening of November 9 (doors open at 6 pm, and dinner is at 7 pm). “We are anticipating a wonderful turn-out,” she says, adding that Atwell Centre’s critical community services could not exist without donations from generous supporters.
