HAMILTON, ON: Atwell Centre, a Pregnancy Care and Health Centre in Hamilton, ON, is excited to announce that it has moved to 681 Main Street E. in Hamilton.
Previously, Atwell Centre was located at 40 Wellington Street N. in Hamilton, sharing space with several other businesses. It had been a tenant in this building for 11 years. With the move to 681 Main Street E., Atwell Centre has almost doubled the amount of space available for its staff and patients.
The new location, constructed in 1915, is two storeys and has 6257 square feet of space. Atwell Centre is the only organization located in the building. There are 12 surface-level parking spots available for staff and patients.
Lois Benham-Smith, the Executive Director at Atwell Centre, emphasized the importance of the new location to staff and patients. “Our new building is almost double the size of our old location, giving us the opportunity to serve more community members at the same time,” Benham-Smith said. “We’re the only organization located in the new building, giving our patients more privacy and better access to our health centre.”
Atwell Centre is a Christian Community Health Agency offering healthcare and programs tailored to women and men facing unexpected pregnancies. It provides point-of-care ultrasounds (P.O.C.U.S.), pregnancy options counselling, and STI testing and treatment. Patients can meet with registered nurses for information, support, and medical care. With core values of professionalism, dignity, non-discrimination, education and information, safety, choice, faith, and hope, Atwell Centre seeks to provide patients from all walks of life with the care and compassion they need when facing unexpected pregnancies and post-abortion realities.
