Lois Benham-Smith
Executive Director, R.N.
Lois is the Founder and Executive Director of the Atwell Centre located in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. She is committed to ensuring women and men are able to access caring support and empowered decision-making when facing an unplanned pregnancy. She welcomes questions and comments about Atwell’s work and vision for the future. Lois and her husband, David, live in the Hamilton area and are the proud parents of three adult children.
Sarah Gillman
Centre Operations Director, B.A.H. PMP
Non-profits and charities often require a complex balance of strategy and frontline support. Sarah’s passion is to enable non-profits and charities to run smart, understanding that these organizations generally run on passion, but also need strategy to survive. At Atwell, Sarah‘s main focus is managing the day-to-day operations of Atwell. You will also find Sarah supporting our Communications Team, planning major fundraising events, and ensuring that the People and Culture of Atwell are supported to ensure that our clients and donors are served with excellence. In her spare time, Sarah can be found helping out with various projects within her community and fishing with her new husband. Sarah and her husband David are looking forward to welcoming their first child in February 2023.

Katherine has come on board Atwell to cover Sarah’s MAT leave position as Centre Operations Director. Katherine comes with years of experience in operations as she spent time with Salvation Army, Ralph Lauren, and Hospice care.
